Where this comes from, and what got left out

About this guide · a plain-language guide to Assyrian (Sureth) grammar

This guide is distilled from Geoffrey Khan's monumental academic grammar of the language. Khan is exhaustive — four volumes, built for scholars. We keep what helps you speak, translate it into plain language and real examples, and set aside the deep historical and comparative detail. When we skip something, we leave a one-line note saying what and why, so nothing feels hidden. Every Assyrian form in this guide is his; the plain-English explanations around them are ours.
